Why does my Saalt Cup slip down?Updated a year ago
Do you find that your cup starts to slip lower or slide down after insertion?
A cup that slips lower can often be a sign of pelvic floor weakness, tightness, or other pelvic support changes. If you suspect that this may be the case, we encourage you to reach out to a pelvic floor therapist. These specialists are incredibly helpful and many cup users have reported great results! (Pelvic floor dysfunction may happen with age, pregnancy, frequent constipation, or decreased physical activity.) Additionally, using any vaginally inserted products postpartum can be unpredictable. Your body did an amazing thing, and it's completely normal to experience pelvic support changes as a result. You deserve a comfortable period, so we encourage you to reach out to a pelvic floor therapist to assess your pelvic floor strength and help you find success with your cup. (Users with pelvic floor dysfunction often find better results with a Saalt Disc as menstrual discs do not rely on the strength of the vaginal walls to stay in place.)
It is also possible for a cup to slip lower if it is positioned incorrectly. Check out the video below to learn more about why your cup may be slipping and how to prevent it.
Finally, your cup may slip if it is too large or small for your anatomy, or if it is too firm. If troubleshooting doesn't do the trick, it may be time to try a different cup size or firmness.
